A week after the start of its mysterious countdown website, Capcom has officially unveiled Street Fighter 6. A teaser trailer shows Ryu and Luke within arms reach of each other, ready to fight. With a simple, “alright, you ready?” and a windup from Luke, the action cuts away to the unveiling of the StreetFighter 6 logo. Breaking away drastically from its tried and true logo, its simplicity and modern style is something that fans of the series are going to struggle to get used to. Also, fans will have to wait some time on the next update as the site simply states “more news Summer 2022”. To see the trailer yourself, check out the video below:
The character design, logo design, and shifting away from roman numerals are certainly a departure for the series, but one that could pave the way for a new generation. However, as the game is still in development, more changes could be coming. Either way, this is great news for Street Fighter fans who haven’t seen the release of a brand new game since Street Fighter V in 2016.
