Elden Ring Gameplay Trailer Overview

Bandai Namco and FromSoftware recently revealed an almost twenty-minute gameplay trailer showcasing Elden Ring‘s finest features, such as its magical elements, weapons, and fighting styles.

The trailer begins with an awe-inspiring scene of a gigantic dragon crashing through a horde of undead before the player eventually takes on the beast. We then see a friendly and massive pot man named Alexander, who the player helps get out of a hole. The trailer also displays multiple weapons and how easy it is for players to switch weapons on the fly. We have yet to see the penalty for stronger weapons, such as Dark Souls‘ weight mechanics. The trailer also shows how magic has been greatly expanded on compared to past titles. Elden Ring sports more visually captivating magic than its spiritual predecessors. For example, we see the player conjure a magical cosmic rain on their mounted, heavily armored foe, ripping through his armor with each drop. We then see the same player attack with a massive, magical laser beam akin to Dark Souls’ Soul Stream.

Elden Ring‘s new combat styles are on full display when the player lifts up a gigantic two-handed axe and brings forth a trio of phantom skeletons, attacking the enemy on each side. This most likely is one of Elden Ring‘s many weapon arts, and boy is it truly one to behold. Players can also dodge to avoid significant damage in stressful moments. If this doesn’t work players can break the enemy’s stance with a decisive blow to gain the advantage. FromSoftware has also added new features not previously found in their games. The addition of a detailed map in Elden Ring lets players place markers around the world. Players also have the ability to craft tools like arrows on the fly once enough materials have been collected.

Overall, Elden RIng‘s gameplay trailer gives us a lot to chew on with many more details I’ve yet to highlight, like the intricate dungeons, spirit summoning, online multiplayer, stealth sections, the brilliant soundtrack, and the atmospheric backgrounds. So if you haven’t seen the trailer yourself, you can check it out on the official Bandai Namco YouTube channel.

Additionally, Bandai Namco also revealed Elden Ring‘s Collector’s Edition and Premium Collector’s Edition. The Collector’s Edition includes the game with an exclusive steelbook, a 40-page art book, stickers, a poster, a 23-centimeter statue of Milenia, and a digital soundtrack. Meanwhile, the Premium Collector’s Edition includes all items from the Collector’s Edition plus an official Helmet Replica of Malenia. Elden Ring launches on February 25th for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Are you excited for Elden Ring? Let us know in the comments below!
