Returnal Patch Finally Adds Save Ability And Photo Mode
At long last, the developers of the incredible PS5 exclusive Returnal have added a save feature (kind of). Launching today, the 2.0 Returnal patch will include the highly sought-after ability to pause mid-cycle. While not a traditional save system, players will now be able to suspend their cycle without having to put their PS5 in Rest Mode. Once the game is suspended, players can quit the game, reload from that point without penalty, and continue. However, the suspend point is deleted once loaded and cannot be used again. And certain instances such as boss fights, first person sequences, and cinematics won’t allow players to create suspend points.
Additionally, developer Housemarque has also added the often requested photo mode to Returnal. Now players will be able to pause at nearly any point in the game and take beautiful and intense pictures. The picture can then be enhanced with modifications such as focal distance, aperture, light source, and implementation of different filters. For a visual reference, check out the video below:
These are huge additions to what was an already incredible game. But now, players that don’t have the ability to play Returnal for hours straight have a better way of playing the game. And photo mode is always a win with games that are this gorgeous.
