Short and sweet. That’s the name of the game for the upcoming Switch title WarioWare: Get It Together! Filled with microgames (even shorter versions of minigames) that are over almost as quickly as they’ve begun, players have to be on their toes to succeed. And with playable characters that have unique abilities randomly alternating along with the subsequent stages, chaos inevitably ensues.
For players that want to try the game out before it launches, there’s a free playable demo in the eShop! Offering a solid sized bite of what to expect, the demo puts six different playable characters in your hand, and several wildly different and zany microgames. The demo also gives players a peek at what the full game will offer. Numerous playable characters, tons of microgames, and plenty of gameplay modes await. Single player, local play, and online play will all be featured in WarioWare: Get It Together!, so there’s something for everybody.
But it all boils down to the gameplay. With microgames consisting of tweezing the armpit hair of a marble statue, strumming a guitar until the audience is on their feet, and shooing a group of flies off the screen, they deliver on fun and funny. Another fun aspect is that the game will randomly pick playable characters before the level starts, so flexibility is the name of the game. The demo gives you four lives, and each failed microgame is a life lost. The end result is trying to successfully beat as many microgames as possible in the time limit.
Personally, I enjoyed my time withthe demo, though it was brief. Within 20 minutes, I felt that I experienced everything that it had to offer. But the demo left me wanting more and looking forward to playing this with my wife on our couch, or even with friends via the online modes when the full game launches. Since the last Wario game I played was WarioWare: Smooth Moves for the Wii, I’m ready for more WarioWare shenanigans!
So mark your calendar for this one, and try it for yourself if you need any more convincing! WarioWare: Get It Together! launches exclusively for Nintendo Switch on September 10th.
