Oro and Akira Come to Street Fighter V: Champion Edition on August 16th

During the Street Fighter V Summer Update 2021 presentation, Capcom revealed the release date for Oro and Akira. After plenty of waiting and anticipation, the two characters are finally coming on August 16th, 2021. Instead of the two coming separately, fans will be able to get them at the same time. This news definitely makes them worth the wait. They join Dan and Rose as the third and fourth characters for Season 5 of Street Fighter V: Champion Edition.

The turtle hermit Oro returns to Street Fighter after his presence in Street Fighter III. While he has previously appeared in character stories in the game, he now makes his playable debut in Street Fighter V: Champion Edition. He brings his turtle friend with him to the fight, making sure he stays safe during combat. This is also his way of challenging himself, making it so he only uses one arm during the fight. He’ll use a collection of returning and new moves to make him a powerful fighter for players to pick up. You can check him out in the gallery below.

Akira Kazama makes her debut in the Street Fighter franchise after making her mark in Capcom’s Rival Schools series. Bringing her bike and her older brother Daigo, she brings a her strong spirit to the roster. She’ll use both close range and long range attacks to mix up her moves and mess with her opponents during a fight. Akira is also getting the “Rival Riverside” stage, bringing a reimagining of a stage from Rival Schools. Fans will take notice of Akira’s high school, as well as familiar faces like Edge and Gan. Check out Akira and her stage in the gallery below.

Both fighters will be here in just a couple weeks, and they’re included in the Season 5 Character Pass, as well as the Season 5 Premium Pass. Both passes are available for $24.99 and $39.99 MSRP respectively. Players can also purchase the characters for $5.99 each, or for 100,000 Fight Money. Akira’s stage is also available for $3.99 or for 70,000 Fight Money. They’ll be joined later by newcomer Luke later in November.
