Everything Announced At EA PLAY Live 2021

EA PLAY Live 2021 has finished and with it comes many new game announcements. While some may have been leaked ahead of time, it doesn’t make their arrival any less exciting. If you missed the event, don’t worry, everything announced can be found below. For those who want to experience the event themselves, you can check out the full stream here.

Grid Legends

The latest title of Codemasters racing franchise introduces a new story mode with a documentary style, starring award winning british actor, Ncuti Gatwa. Grid Legends boasts a new AI system that will make the drivers feel as human as possible. You’ll take to the streets of famous cities all over the world, and even have the ability to customize your own races. Grid Legends will be available for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC in 2022.  

Apex Legends: Emergence

Respawn Entertainment, developer of the hit first person shooter, Apex Legends, announced their next major update, Apex Legends: Emergence. This latest update marks the arrival of the newest legend named seer, a tracking focused character capable of seeing through walls. The update will also include ranked arenas, and the return of the global series come September, with the addition of crossplay between platforms. Pro League and Challenger Circuit will be returning as well, with a prize pool of five million dollars. The Emergence update will launch on August 3. 

Lost in Random 

The next title by Zoink, the studio behind Fe, arrives in the form of Lost in Random, a dark fairy-tale world where chance is everything. Magic, a slingshot, and a living die named Dicey, will help drive you through this world of chance. You’ll need quick thinking and a strong wit to get through the board game themed arenas. Lost in Random will be available September 10, for Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.

Knockout City

The next season of the hit dodgeball game, Knockout city, is called Fight at the Movies. This classic film themed season will include the new map, Holowood Drive-In. The season will also feature the sticky syrup blinding Soda Ball, movie themed gear and cosmetics, league play, playlists and much more. The season launches July 27, with Xbox Game Pass, EA Play, and Epic Games Store members playing for free, with everyone else free up to street rank 25.

Battlefield Portal

The Battlefield series is receiving a new mode with Battlefield Portal. Portal will serve as a community driven platform for players to create and share their battles. Maps from all across the series will be available to build and customize. You’ll be able to create your own battles by customizing each side with various factors. Set your own rules and create your own conflicts, the choice of your battle will be up to you. Battlefield Portal will launch within Battlefield 2042 on October 22, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.

Dead Space Remake

One of the biggest announcements is the return of Dead Space. Motive will be remaking Dead Space from the ground up, using the Frostbite engine. The critically acclaimed survival horror game will feature rebuilt assets and new immersive technology while Dead Space true to the original. The remake will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. No release date has been given yet.
