Destiny 2’s Solstice of Heroes Has Returned

Since the start of Season of the Splicer, Destiny 2’s tower has experienced eternal night at the hands of the Vex. With the recent defeat of Quria, The Dreaming Mind, the night has been lifted and dawn has arrived. With this, Bungie has used this opportunity to begin the Solstice of Heroes. This annual contest is a summer staple within the Destiny universe. Solstice of Heroes is a chance to celebrate all of the accomplishments made throughout the year, and of course earn sweet loot. You can check out the trailer for the event below.

Like previous years, the event will be hosted by everyone’s favorite space grandma, Eva Levante. You can find her in the center of the tower, where she will give you the quest to start the event. Once the quest is complete, she will be your hub for all things Solstice of Heroes. The main activity for the event will take place in the European Aerial Zone. The EAZ is a large open area specifically for these types of events. In the EAZ you will take on waves of enemies and bosses in order to earn the keys needed to open up dropped loot boxes.

There will be plenty of loot to chase as well. Each class gets their own armor to upgrade throughout the event, from common rarity to masterworked legendary. You can upgrade each piece of armor by completing various tasks during the event. Each armor will receive a special glow as well, giving the armor a light effect corresponding to your subclass. These glows will be available to earn in-game or purchase with real currency. As with every event, new items are available in the eververse store. The items this time around revolve around a summer/beach theme. You can also earn in-game triumphs for more cosmetics, including a tee shirt that becomes available to purchase once you’ve completed enough triumphs.

The event will be available to all players, running from July 6th to August 3rd. The end of the event will likely mark the beginning of the transition into the next season.
