Borderlands Gets a Spin-Off Game With Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands

The arrival of Summer Games Fest has given Borderlands fans something new to look forward to. Say hello to Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, a fantasy spin-off to the Borderlands series focusing on the beloved Tiny Tina. It’s not exactly Borderlands 4, but this is probably the next best thing, if not better. You can check out the reveal trailer below.

For those unfamiliar, Tiny Tina is a fan favorite character, making her first appearance in Borderlands 2. Since her initial appearance, she has made her way into several DLC’s, including her own, Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep. The DLC played as a parody of Dungeons & Dragons incorporating many themes from the popular role-playing game. Assault on Dragon Keep was widely regarded as the best Borderlands DLC. Developer Gearbox noticed fans calling for a follow up DLC and instead decided to make a spinoff with the same Dungeons & Dragons theme. Her comment at the end of the trailer “roll for initiative suckers!” is the same line she says at the beginning of Assault on Dragon Keep. Expect some sort of continuation form the previous DLC.

The game will feature the standard first-person RPG style that Borderlands is famous for. However the final product will be, you can expect Borderlands’ usual humor and hopefully it’s loot. The game has some big names among the cast as well, with stars like Andy Samberg, Wanda Sykes, Will Arnett, Ashly Burch and everyone’s favorite diamond pony, Butt Stallion. No release date has been confirmed yet, but we’re given a timeframe of early 2022. The game will release for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, and PC. Are you excited to dive back into the world of Borderlands? What style of game do you think Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands will be? Let us know in the comments below!
