Nintendo Switch Sales Surpass the Game Boy Advance at 84.59 Million Units

Nintendo’s financial briefing for the 2021 fiscal year posted some record breaking results for the company. The company reports that their portable home console hybrid has reached 84.59 million units in sales as of March 31st, 2021. This means that Nintendo Switch sales have officially surpassed the Game Boy Advance, which sold at 81.51 million units. Being the fourth year of the Switch’s life cycle, it’s doing incredibly well, even selling nearly five million units since the last financial results. It’s selling better than the company predicted, and is on track to surpassing even the Wii.

Software sales also continue to do well, with games like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Animal Crossing: New Horizons still coming out on top. With the rumors of an upgraded model on the horizon, it seems like nothing can stop the Switch from dominating the charts. What do you think about the Nintendo Switch hardware sales update?
