With Season of the Chosen coming to a close, Bungie released a trailer for next season of Destiny 2, Season of the Splicer. This season will focus on a Vex plot to black out the sun, making the tower in an endless night. With the help of Mithrax, Guardians will be infiltrating the Vex to stop the invasion. For those unfamiliar, Mithrax is the leader of the house of light, the one Fallen house that is friendly towards guardians. You can check out the trailer below.
Season of the Splicer will introduce a new six-man match-made activity called Override. You and your team will venture into the Vex network guided by Mithrax. In addition to Override, there will also be a weekly story mission called Expunge. Expect bits of story to unfold each week as you complete the mission. As with all seasons, there will also be new loot to chase. This will include the seasonal exotic Cryosthesia 77k, the first primary stasis weapon.
With Season of the Splicer also comes a long awaited feature for Destiny 2, transmogrification. Starting with this new season, players will be able to change their armor to look like any armor they have acquired before. There are limitations to the amount of armor you can acquire through the use of new resources. Transmogrification will be available to all players whether you’ve purchased the season pass or not. Players can purchase the season pass for $9.99.
Finally, Season of the Splicer will be introducing a fan favorite raid from the first Destiny, Vault of Glass. The raid will go live May 22nd, with a world’s first race taking place as well. The new season will start May 11th and run through August 24th. If you missed content in Season of the Chosen, the missions will still be available to complete along with the new season.
