Monster Hunter Rise Soars Past 5 Million Units Shipped Worldwide

It’s been just over a week, but Capcom has announced that Monster Hunter Rise has shipped more than 5 million units. Releasing worldwide on March 26th, the Switch exclusive has already seen massive success. A title utilizing the very adaptable RE Engine, the game is garnering incredibly positive reception. The game hosts a variety of new features and will continue to have several free updates throughout the year. We’re currently in the process of reviewing the game and should have our final review sometime this week.

Monster Hunter is currently the second best selling franchise in Capcom’s stable, now selling just over 66 million units for the entire franchise. Resident Evil still holds the top spot, but Monster Hunter continues to be a smash hit with each new release. The previous release, Monster Hunter World, surpassed 16.8 million sales, becoming Capcom’s best selling game ever. At 5 million units shipped, at the rate Monster Hunter Rise is going, it could very well reach that milestone as well.

Are you already hunting with your friends in the game? Let us know in the comments below. Monster Hunter Rise is available now, exclusively for Nintendo Switch. Although there isn’t an official announcement, a PC release is on track for a release in early 2022.
