While it may be April Fool’s Day, that doesn’t mean there aren’t legitimate announcements being made today. One such announcement comes from Tripwire Interactive as they finally pull back the curtain of their Maneater DLC. Titled Maneater: Truth Quest, this story continues right where the original game left off. Coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, and PC, fans will be able to take their shark on an all new adventure. Check out the announcement trailer below.

Maneater: Truth Quest will take players to a new location to explore, eat, and evolve. They’ll be able to enjoy plenty of new features as well. This includes a new evolution set with five new organs (and a new organ slot), new enemies, and new objectives. There will also be an increased level cap to level 40, a new maximum shark size, and a new “uber” Apex Predator. Of course, perhaps best of all, Chris Parnell returns as investigative journalist, Trip Westhaven. We look forward to hearing more of his comedic style in the new content after enjoying his narration in the base game.

Players will investigate the secrets and conspiracies of Port Clovis and the Naval Wildlife Organization in this new content. Apparently, the actions of our shark heroine made for plenty of stories that the government is trying to cover up. This includes developing bone armor, producing electric powers, and even utilizing flesh-eating toxins on humanity. After being driven to the brink of madness, Trip takes his ViewTube followers on a journey to uncover the truth. This story will span two episodes and will offer plenty of new challenges for $14.99.

When speaking of Maneater: Truth Quest, Tripwire Interactive Creative Director Sean McBride had this to say: “The team has been hard at work on Maneater: Truth Quest and we’re excited to announce the first details on the downloadable content that so many fans have been asking for. We’re aiming to give players more of what they loved from the original Maneater, with the ability to grow bigger, explore an entirely new region off the coast of Port Clovis, and evolve further tools of destruction. Inspired by Scaly Pete’s father’s tales of ‘Gub’ment Experiments’, we pick up where we left off and join Trip Westhaven and the shark’s journey down the rabbit hole of conspiracy and military cover ups as you eat, explore and evolve through these uncharted waters.”

Maneater: Truth Quest will launch sometime this Summer. While this announcement is only for PC, PlayStation and Xbox consoles, a Switch version will likely come in the future.
