Judgment is Coming to Xbox Series S|X, PlayStation 5, and Google Stadia
Today, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio has announced that their Yakuza spinoff, Judgment, is coming to next-gen platforms and Google Stadia on April 23rd, 2021. This is great news for fans of the franchise, as it means the game will no longer be a PlayStation 4 exclusive. We loved the game when it originally released, so much so that it ranked highly on my list of top 2019 games. The game will have enhanced visuals and will run in 60fps, taking advantage of the new hardware. It will also include all the DLC for only $39.99. You can watch the announcement trailer here.
While it’s great to the game reach PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X, it’s interesting to note the lack of a PC release. Even more confusing, it’s coming to Google Stadia when just earlier today, Google shut down their Stadia Games and Entertainment division. We’ve reached out to Sega for comment regarding if existing PlayStation 4 owners will get a next-gen upgrade. [UPDATE: Judgment is not eligible for a free next-gen upgrade]. Considering the PlayStation 5 release includes all the DLC, not having a free upgrade is not surprising. Either way, Judgment coming to PlayStation 5 for a lower price point is still well worth it.
Are you looking forward to the upcoming re-release? Have you already spent time as Takayuki Yagami in Kamurocho, or will this be your first time? Let us know in the comments below!
