In a surprising moment during The Game Awards, developer Team Meat announced that Super Meat Boy Forever will be launching on December 23rd. At this point in time, the only available platform will be PC via the Epic Games Store. There’s not much news about other platforms at this time. Despite this, we do know that it’s coming to Steam sometime in 2021. For the full trailer showcasing never before seen areas, bosses, and cutscenes, see below.
This is long awaited news for Meat Boy fans, who haven’t seen a major release since 2010’s Super Meat Boy. However, the formula will be switched up a bit this time around. Super Meat Boy Forever is an endless runner that utilizes new mechanics such as punching and sliding. But, it will still have the difficulty that previous players are used to. And as a special treat for those who pre-purchase the game now, the Epic Games Store is offering the game at $17.99 (as opposed to its regular price of $19.99) up until the release date.
Are you looking forward to the return of Super Meat Boy? Will you pick it up when it hits the Epic Games Store this month? Or will you be waiting for it to come to another platform? Let us know in the comments below!
