Steve from Minecraft is the Newest Fighter to Join Super Smash Bros. Ultimate!
After a brief announcement from out of the blue, Nintendo decided to tease the next fighter for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. After a short video presentation with Masahiro Sakurai this morning, the next fighter has been revealed. Steve from Minecraft is joining the roster! After months of being a rumor, the character is finally making his debut.
You can expect plenty of Minecraft madness with Steve, but that’s not all. Alternate looks include Alex, Zombie, and Enderman, which give plenty of Minecraft representation to the game. According to Sakurai, Nintendo approached him about including representatives from Minecraft. “Mr. Sakurai… surely you can put Minecraft in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate?” Well it looks like he did just that, including a Minecraft inspired stage and plenty of dry humor. Sakurai wishes to explain the character further, so on October 3rd, at 7:30AM PT, he will host a video presentation to showcase the character. This will take place just before Minecraft Live, and will also likely give us an idea of the release timing.
What do you think of Steve? Are they an exciting addition to the roster? Maybe you’re a bit disappointed? Let us know in the comments below! There are four fighters left in the second fighters pass for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. We look forward to seeing who comes next!
