Steam has a special treat (especially for 90s kids)….Chip’s Challenge is free right now! Originally released back in 1989, Chip’s Challenge tasks the player with completing 149 puzzle filled levels from a top-down perspective. Operating on a grid system, Chip can only move up, down, left, or right (not diagonally) in a game that increases in difficulty with each passing level. Starting simply enough, locked doors with different colors, environmental hazards, and enemies will test the player’s mental fortitude throughout the game.
My experience with Chip’s Challenge is extremely fond, so this is wonderful news. The game was preloaded on the second family PC that my parent’s purchased and provided me with hours upon hours of entertainment. I’m hoping the game is as good as I remember and that my current gaming skills make the game easier than it was in my formative days.
Are you going to download Chip’s Challenge and take a walk down memory lane? Are you going to try it for the first time? We would love to hear your thoughts, so let us know in the comment section below.
