Microsoft acquires Bethesda Softworks, creator of Skyrim, Fallout and Doom
This just in, Microsoft has just announced its acquiring ZeniMax Media, the parent company of Bethesda Softworks, in a deal worth $7.5B. This would give Microsoft the ownership of some of the best franchises out there including: Fallout, Doom, Dishonored, Wolfenstein, The Elder Scrolls, Prey, Quake.
In Phil Spencer’s official statement he mentioned that all Bethesda-owned games will be making an appearance on Game Pass for PC and Xbox. This makes Microsoft’s subscription even more valuable than before.
It might also mean that in the future Microsoft might be offering time exclusivity to certain Bethesda games on Xbox Series S/X, or even some exclusive content.
