Thanks to some pressure from a recent leak, it seems that Microsoft had no choice but to speak up. The Xbox Series S has officially been announced with a price of $299.99. As the smallest Xbox ever with next-gen performance, details are still scarce, but we’ll know more soon.
👀 Let’s make it official!
Xbox Series S | Next-gen performance in the ˢᵐᵃˡˡᵉˢᵗ Xbox ever. $299 (ERP).
It’s important to note that the system notably doesn’t have a disc drive, similar to the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition. The Series S will likely be for those that want to use Game Pass or xCloud as their primary means of entertainment. While we don’t have specs yet, rumors say the Series S doesn’t have as powerful of a GPU as the Xbox One X, though the system will apparently still be ahead in every other spec. (UPDATE: A trailer for the console has leaked, but we’ve updated it with the official source from Xbox.)
With only a couple months left before November, Microsoft will likely make some announcements very soon. Are you excited about the Xbox Series S? Or perhaps you’ll prefer the Xbox Series X? Let us know in the comments below!
