Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes Succeeds On Kickstarter
After a pre-announcement a few days prior, Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes launched its campaign on Kickstarter today. And in less than three hours, the campaign met its minimum goal of $500,000.
This goal might have been achieved even quicker if the overwhelming website traffic didn’t cause Kickstarter to crash multiple times. Fortunately, backers were able to get their contributions in and then some. After hitting the minimum goal, three stretch goals were also met. Arguably the most important of these stretch goals was the console target. In addition to PC, the game will be releasing on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PS4, PS5, and Switch (and Switch 2, if that exists when the game launches). And with 30 days until the campaign ends, it looks like many more are on the way.
Targeting a late 2022 release date, Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes looks to take heavy inspiration from the masterful Suikoden 2. It is also reminiscent of the recent Octopath Traveler, another homage to JRPG’s golden days. Players will get to experience an in-depth story, a slew of recruitable and playable characters, a unique and varied battle system, the building of an empire, and stunning visuals, to name a few.
