Enhance Your Senses With Friends in Tetris Effect: Connected
During the Xbox Games Showcase, an expanded version of Tetris Effect was revealed. Tetris Effect: Connected is coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Windows 10. This is the first time that Tetris Effect will release on the Xbox platform. The title will make adjustments to the single-player mode while also adding a new multiplayer mode. Feel free to check out the trailer below.
We recently reviewed the original Tetris Effect for VR, considering it an easy recommendation to those who love puzzle games. The multiplayer component for Tetris Effect: Connected will feature cross play, local and online multiplayer. The game will also be available via Xbox Game Pass and will take full advantage of the Smart Delivery program. New multiplayer modes include “Zone Battle” for a unique 1-on-1 match using the zone mechanic as well as “Connected” mode, which allows three players to connect their playfields together to defeat in-game bosses.
Producer and Enhance Founder Tetsuya Mizuhuchi had this to say about the game: “We were blown away by the reaction to the original Tetris Effect. People just ‘got it’ on every level—as a game, of course, but also as this positive, emotional, life-affirming experience. Some people were shocked they could be so moved, even to tears, by a ‘puzzle game,’ which we took as the ultimate compliment. But we also kept hearing that players wanted to share that experience with others. We want that, too—and especially as the world continues to adapt to unprecedented forms of isolation, it felt like a worthy challenge. Tetris Effect: Connected is our attempt to do just that: connect all different types of people, in cooperation or competition, via our universal love of Tetris.”
Tetris Effect: Connected will be exclusive to Xbox until the Summer of 2021. At that time, all the other versions will get a free update to add the multiplayer. It’s unknown if the other versions will offer cross-play multiplayer as well. The game is currently setting up for a Holiday 2020 launch, so puzzle game fans can look forward to it.
