The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners Gets Free ‘Meatgrinder Update’ Today

Today, Skydance Interactive is launching their first free update for The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners. Now available on PlayStation VR, Oculus Rift, Rift S, Quest, Valve Index, HTC Vive, and Windows MR headsets, ‘The Meatgrinder Update’ aims to give players more to experience in the game.

With the Meatgrinder update, players will have the opportunity to play an all new mode known as ‘The Trial’. It’s here that they’ll take on waves of walkers, earning points based on their performance. Using these points, you’ll be able to purchase weapons and crafting items to plan for the next wave. Think the Zombies mode in Call of Duty, but single player and in VR. To survive, you’ll have to play smart and utilize your resources wisely as enemy waves increase in difficulty.

Lead Designer of the game, Roy Orr, had this to day about the update: “Our team has been hard at work to continuously improve The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners since its launch, and The Meatgrinder Update is the first major update that offers players an entirely new way to play. We can’t wait for players to put their skills to their test as they face new challenges in ‘The Trial’ and fight to survive against hordes of walkers.”

Players that are fans of the katana weapon will also get a new ‘Absolution’ skin for the weapon. You’ll be able to use the weapon in both The Trial and the campaign. There’s even a new story focused difficulty option, giving players a more leisurely option for enjoying the game.

The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners is available for a $39.99 MSRP on the Oculus Store, Steam, and the PlayStation Store. Players looking for more digital content and bonuses can purchase the Tourist and Tower Editions as well. Our VR Review for this week will also be for The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners, and will include the Meatgrinder update in our impressions. What do you think? Looking forward to taking down waves of walkers? Let us know in the comments below!
