Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales Swings to the PlayStation 5

One of the biggest highlights from the PlayStation 5 event was the announcement of a sequel to Marvel’s Spider-Man. Titled Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, this looks to continue the story of 2018’s super-hero epic adventure. From the trailer, we can see that Miles will have the web-slinging, as well as his invisibility and electric powers. Not much else is known about the title, but it’s coming this year. We gave the original game a 9.5 out of 10 in our review, so we’re definitely looking forward to this one.

Current speculation sees the game as a mini-sequel, sort of like inFamous: First Light, or Uncharted: Lost Legacy. Insomniac Games insists that it is a standalone game marking the next adventure in the Marvel’s Spider-Man universe. From what we can see, it does have some differences from the original game, mainly the winter setting. It also seems like the game takes some cues from the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse animated film. This makes sense given that Miles was the main character of that movie. Check out the trailer below to see what we mean.

We’ll have more details soon as we get more information. Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is targeting a Holiday 2020 release, exclusively for the PlayStation 5.

While the idea of Spider-Man may have started with Peter Parker, the animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse teaches us that anyone can wear the mask. It’s that very core message that has given birth to the idea of other iterations, including Miles Morales. As a primary character in the film, Miles has gotten a lot of attention lately. Not only did he have a reoccurring role in multiple Spider-Man cartoons, but he also appears as a playable character in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3. Arguably the most notable role, however, is his inclusion in Marvel’s Spider-Man, the hit PlayStation 4 game from Insomniac Games. Thanks to this role, he’ll get his own game with Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. […]
