In rather surprising news, Behaviour Interactive and Konami are partnering up to bring a new chapter to Dead By Daylight, titled Dead By Daylight: Silent Hill. This paid DLC chapter was unveiled on Tuesday during a Livestream celebrating the game’s fourth year of continued content.
The chapter will include the iconic monster of Silent Hill Pyramid Head, Silent Hill 3’s Heather as Cheryl Mason, and the Midwich Elementary School map. This content is currently live on the public test build on Steam with a full version coming to PC and Consoles on June 16th.
Alongside the chapter, Behaviour Interactive also announced all-new cross-play support and a major graphics overhaul for Dead by Daylight. We also received more details regarding the characters in the new chapter, such as Pyramid Head’s ranged attack that also goes through objects.
As well as his ability to use his blade to dig up trenches survivors will need to avoid. His default look is based on his Silent Hill 2 appearance, but players will have the ability to customize him as well.
The same goes for Cheryl Mason. She has multiple alternate skins, one of which is a skin for Lisa Garland, a recurring character from the Silent Hill games. The Midwich Elementary map is also based on the school location from the original game, which implements a mix of otherworldly fog and foreboding ambiance. The map also promises tons of Easter eggs for fans of the series to find.
As an extra treat, Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka consulted with composer Michel F. April to bring a new Silent Hill inspired version of the Dead by Daylight theme song.
Dead by Daylight is available now on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, PC, and Xbox One. It’s also currently available on both Android and iOS devices.
