Sometimes, gifts just keep on giving. Today marks the release of the second free update to the critically acclaimed Children of Morta. Referred to as the Setting Sun Inn update, new game plus content, new cutscenes, new home events, character skill cap increase, and character upgrades have all been added. While this appears to be a bevy of free additional content, this is just the second free update. The Setting Sun Inn update is part of a long term plan of six free updates according to the developer.

For those who haven’t played Children of Morta, it follows the Bergson family who are collectively attempting to fight off the evil corruption that is spreading through the land. You do this by selecting one of the family members and work your way through randomly generated dungeons. Each family member will have their own unique skillset and approach to combat. What makes the game unique is its art style and the ability to not only level up individual family members, but to also improve the abilities of the entire family. Check out the trailer below.

This is a great time for previous players to get back into the game and sink their teeth into some new content. For new players, the game is currently on sale on Steam, PS4, and Nintendo Switch. For Xbox users, Children of Morta is currently in the Xbox Game Pass library.
