Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid League Starts This Month!

Aiming for the tournament spotlight, nWay’s Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid is seeking the best players across the United States. In partnership with Hasbro and Lionsgate, nWay is announcing the Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid League. Starting this month, they’ll be teaming up with local fighting game communities to find the best of the best.

Those who participate in the League will earn Grid Points by competing in community-driven offline and online events. They’ll also be able to compete by playing Episodes, in-game challenges where they can play matches and earn metals to rank on the leaderboard. The events will be sanctioned by the creators of the game and will take place in multiple states, as well as online. Prizes will be available for winning these events as well. Check out the announcement video below!

The seven players with the most Grid Points at the end of the season, as well as a winner of a last chance qualifier tournament, will be invited to compete at EVO 2020 in Las Vegas for the series finale this August. The winner will become the first Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid League Champion.

There are seven planned stops for the Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid League. First will be Frosty Faustings in Chicago, IL on January 17th and 18th. After that, it’s Final Round in Atlanta, GA on between March 20th and March 22nd. Third and fourth will be the NorCal Regionals in San Jose, CA and April Annihilation in New Jersey between April 10th and April 12th. ComboBreaker is next up in Chicago again between May 23rd and May 25th. After that, CEO Gaming in Orlando, FL will take place between June 26th and June 28th. Finally, the final stages of the season will be at EVO 2020 in Las Vegas, Nevada between July 31 and August 1st.

We reviewed Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid last year, saying it had potential, but it wasn’t quite there yet. By the end of the year however, the game had reached a higher level of quality. We definitely look forward to seeing the high-level play in the game, and hope more people discover this game. Are you already a Ranger competing for ultimate power? Do you plan on competing in the League? Let us know in the comments below! You can see more details here. As for newcomers, stay tuned. We’ll have an upcoming giveaway to win a PS4 code for the game and both seasons of DLC!
