Games with Gold and PlayStation Plus for November 2019 Lineup
It’s the Eve of All Hallow’s Eve, and today, Microsoft and Sony have announced their free November games. Both Games with Gold and PlayStation Plus offer a unique variety of games this month. Here’s what subscribers can look forward to.
First up, Xbox One owners can look forward to two very different titles. Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter (November 1st-31st) and The Final Station (November 16th-December 15th) will both be available. Fans may have recently heard about the Frogwares situation with publisher Focus Home Interactive. Luckily, Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter is published by Bigben Interactive, allowing players to take control of the titular detective. The Final Station offers part side-scrolling shooter and part train simulator in this indie darling from Do My Best Games.
For the remaining Games with Gold titles, we have one original Xbox title and one Xbox 360 game. Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter (November 1st-15th) and Joy Ride Turbo (November 16th-30th) will be available as the backwards compatible titles. Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter takes place just before Star Wars: Attack of the Clones and is likely celebrating the release of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Joy Ride Turbo is the sequel to Kinect Joy Ride, essentially putting your avatar in a kart racer. It’s a simple title for a more casual experience, and it controls much better without the motion controls.
Up next, we have the PlayStation Plus titles for November 2019 starting November 5th. The first title on the list is Nioh, a Souls-like title with a Japanese flair. Team Ninja’s action title offered a more colorful and mystical approach to the genre. The sequel, Nioh 2, just set its sights on March 13th, 2020 for a release date. The open beta for Nioh 2 will take place between November 1st and November 10th. For those that don’t already own the original game, this free title will be the perfect game to keep practicing for the sequel.
The other PlayStation Plus title is Outlast 2. Missing Halloween by a few days, this creepy sequel from Red Barrels has players investigate a murder. Blake Langermann, a journalist traveling with his wife, Lynn, explore the Arizona desert to find answers, only to discover a sect people believing the end of days is upon them. Fans of horror games may definitely want to take the time to download this one.
What do you think about the free games this month? Does Xbox have the advantage with quantity for Games with Gold? Or does PlayStation Plus have the more quality titles? You be the judge. Let us know in the comments what you’re looking forward to playing!
