Games with Gold and PlayStation Plus for September 2019 Lineup
September 2019 brings new games to both Xbox Live Gold and PlayStation Plus. Both services include a unique variety of games for both subscriptions. There’s still a few days left to claim the games from the August lineup. After that, it’ll switch right into the September lineup.
On the Xbox front, there will be two main Xbox One games available: Hitman: The Complete First Season (September 1st-31st) and We Were Here (September 16th-October 15th). Hitman’s first season is a reboot of the classic stealth franchise. Agent 47 travels all over the world, assassinating unassuming victims by donning a variety of costumes. We Were Here is a first person puzzle game akin to The Witness, with a darker tone and setting. It can be played cooperatively as well.
The two classic games available on Xbox are Earth Defense Force 2025 (September 1st-15th) and Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (September 16th-September 31st). Earth Defense Force 2025 is the epitome of B-movie homages as players are tasked to wield massive fire power against a swarm of giant insects. Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is another stellar installment in the Tekken franchise, featuring the most fighters yet, as well as the ability to tag in and out with your partner. With those titles, Xbox Games with Gold has a pretty stellar lineup.
September’s PS Plus lineup looks to continue the tradition that Sony is setting with a couple of stellar titles. Batman Arkham Knight is the supposed finale of the Arkham trilogy that debuted nearly a decade ago. New to the franchise was the Batmobile, the trusty vehicle used to explore the dark corners of Gotham City. It is a great action adventure game, even if you aren’t familiar with the Dark Knight’s legacy.
Darksiders III only came out late November last year, and it’s already a PS Plus title. The game puts players in the role of Fury, another member of the four horsemen of the apocalypse, tasked in finding the Seven Deadly Sins. Despite the departure from its Zelda-esque dungeons in favor of more traditional hack-and-slash action, the game is still enjoyable. Both these titles will be available on September 2nd.
