Cross Network Play Announced for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds
Finally! Cross network play has been announced for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. For the first time ever, PlayStation 4 players will be able to play PUBG with their friends who have an Xbox One and vice-versa. With a larger overall server to pull players from, this also means shorter game wait times. This allows for a bigger, more immersive PUBG experience. Back in January of this year, I mentioned that this was crucial for PUBG on the PlayStation 4. Sounds like the PUBG Corporation agrees.
Along with cross-play, the console versions of PUBG will be receiving updates more frequently. After the release of Season 4: Aftermath all PC updates for PUBG will land on consoles 2 weeks after their release, allowing for a more streamlined and co-operative PC to console experience. Season 4: Aftermath will hit consoles on August 27th. Cross-play will launch on public test servers in late September with the live server launching in early October.
