G and Sagat Releasing Today in Street Fighter V!

At EVO 2018, during the Street Fighter V finals, Capcom made a big announcement. It was hinted heavily that Capcom would finally give G, their newest fighter, his full reveal. Not only did they deliver on that, but they also surprised fans by revealing Sagat as well. The biggest surprise however, is that both of them release today, August 6th. Fans were happy to see the return of one of Street Fighter’s oldest characters, as well as the mysterious fighter G.

G is a mysterious man that claims himself to be the rightful President of the entire world. Wanting to unite the continents into one nation, he uses the energy of the Earth to strengthen his resolve. Getting to see his moves in action, there are some strong comparisons to the Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike character Q. How close the two are will likely be shown in G’s story mode, but until then, he is a man of mystery. G also brings with him a unique trait with is Presidentiality level, which powers his special attacks as he fights (until he is knocked down). Feel free to check out G’s gameplay reveal trailer below and enjoy his catchy theme.

Aside from G, the “Emperor of Muay Thai” returns, as Sagat also joins the battle today. Sagat brings his signature moves Tiger Shot, Tiger Uppercut, and Tiger Knee Crush to the growing roster of Street Fighter V. His stage, King’s Court, also becomes available tomorrow, as well as Sagat’s nostalgia costume, sporting his signature shorts. His new V-Skills, Tiger Charge and Tiger Assault seem to make him just as formidable as ever. Feel free to check out his gameplay reveal below.

G and Sagat close out the third season of Street Fighter V. They join the previous characters with Sakura, Blanka, Falke, and Cody. All fighters can be purchased with Fight Money, individually for $5.99, or as part of the Season Pass for $29.99. The game has had a nice round of updates during the transition to Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition. With a host of new features like Arcade Mode, Extra Battle, Fighting Chance and more, it really is a great time to jump into Street Fighter V.
