Space Hulk: Deathwing, a first-person shooter with tactical elements set in Games Workshop’s Warhammer 40,000 universe, has received a new trailer during Gamescom recently, showing the Deathwing squad, inspired by the Battle Hymn of Vengeance (written by renowned Warhammer 40,000 author Gay Thorpe), in a last stand against a swarm of insurmountable Genestealers. Check it out below:
Players will be able to play via coop with friends in a Dark Angels Terminator squad of the elite Deathwing that has been dispatched to eradicate the Genestealer threat on the Space Hulk Olethros. The Space Hulk Olethros is a cluster of derelict ships and debris collected over years of war. You will need, either solo or with friends, to lead your squad through xeno-infested ships and debris as you attempt to locate the source of some ominous psychic disturbances.
Both your Terminator and your squad can be customized, with the ability to learn and level up skills, as well as a wide variety of ranged and melee weapons to choose between. During battle, you can command your team to hold choke points, hack into doors, andcover your advance. You do need to be careful, however, as nothing is quite as it seems in Space Hulk Olethros….
The game features a story co-written by acclaimed Dark Angels writer, Gavin Thorpe, so you can be sure there will be easter eggs around every corner.
