British artist creates world’s largest trading card mosaic with Pokémon cards

The Pokémon Company International revealed that they have partnered with British artist Quentin Devine to create the world’s largest trading card mosaic. This mosaic has been created with 12,987 individual Pokémon Trading Card Game cards, measuring 71.54 square meters and hangs over 10 meters tall and 7 meters wide. This special mosaic was unveiled today in Paris.

This special mosaic secures a new world record and forms the image of the beloved Pokémon character Pikachu in the original iconic pose as drawn by GAME FREAK illustrator Ken Sugimori.

The Pokémon Company International Marketing Director, Anthony Cornish, stated, “We are incredibly excited to have secured this highly ambitious world record, and are thrilled to have worked with renowned artist Quentin Devine to bring the mosaic to life.”

For those unaware, Quentin Devine is an artist, animator, and designer from Surrey, England. He previously created a giant mosaic of the Mona Lisa from fan self-portraits, and an image of the Queen of Great Britain and Northern Ireland using penny coins. This special Pikachu mosaic is his biggest creation to date.

What are your thoughts on this new world record?
