Rising Star Games and Triple Eh? Ltd are convinced that they have the first great game of 2016 lined up for release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, PC, Mac, Linux, and Xbox One early next year.
This game, known as Lumo, is drawn from the mind of former Ruffian co-founder and now head of Triple Eh? Ltd, Gareth Noyce. Lumo is a modern take on the classic isometric adventure style, and also a love letter to the golden age of British game development and everybody that made it great. It features over 400 rooms filled with secrets and puzzles, as well as subtle and not-so-subtle nods to the days of the UK’s Sinclair ZX Spectrum Personal Computer and beyond as it, to quote the press release, oozes “the kind of charm that absolutely anyone can enjoy”.
Rising Star Games continues on to state, “If nothing else though, Lumo proves one thing: labels are redundant when you’ve got quality. Forget all of those PR buzzwords you hear these days – great games are great, no matter how much they cost to create or how many people make them. You won’t see RSG classify Lumo as indie, retro or anything else that might see people pigeon-holing it off-hand. We simply want you to see it as the first great game of 2016, hands down.”
Lumo will be playable in public at EGX at the Birmingham NEC from September 24 to September 27, 2015. Interested parties can check out the title at the Rising Star Games boot in the Rezzed Zone.
