Quest’s End Games and The Project Factory were recently thrilled to unveil their involvement with the creation of the official app for Blinky Bill: The Movie.

This app allows you to enter the world of Blinky Bill and his friends, adding these iconic characters to your photos and videos. You can do a variety of things with the characters, including spinning them around, making them larger, making them smaller, and even simply saving them to your camera roll to share with your pals. Every character from Blinky Bill: The Movie will be there, such as Blinky, Nutsy, Jacko, Crackers, Beryl & Cheryl, Wombo, Cranklepot, Sir Claude, and Splodge.

For those unaware, Quest’s End Games is based in Sydney Australia, and is comprised of ex-AAA developers who had a hand in the hit Rockstar Games title, LA Noire, as well as the critically acclaimed indie titles, Particulars and Towncraft, and many others. As a result, this strong portfolio of development made them an obvious choice when Flying Bark Productions, the studio behind the movie, was looking for somebody to create a family application.

Nick Young, Lead Programmer of Blinky Bill, explains, “I loved Blinky Bill as a child growing up in Australia, and I feel pretty excited to be sharing this little guy with a new generation of kids in a very new medium that brings him to life like never before. This is the magic of technology meeting the magic of imagination!”

Quest’s End Producer, Tima Anoshechkin, goes on to explain the work that went into developing the application, stating, “Due to different processes of development between movie and games industries, we had to redo the rigs and author our own animations. In order to do that we collaborated with extremely talented AIE students and they produced required rigs and animation under very tight deadline – just 7 weeks.”
