Bethesda brought members of Arkane Studios out to their stage during their showcase, giving the first look at Dishonored 2. Unfortunately, no gameplay was shown, but even though it was all cinematic, it gives fans an idea of what to expect with the powers of the new protagonist Emily Kaldwin. Apparently, Corvo Attano, the first games protagonist, will also be playable, and still retain many of his powers as well, allowing players to choose between them for different play styles.
Emily has an interesting magical grappling hook that allows her to travel quickly around the environment, as well as the familiar ability to slow down time. The trailer shows Emily sneaking through the city of Karnaca as she attempts to assassinate a target, one that is aware of her identity already. The cinematic continues, showing off more abilities as Emily fights off robots and pursues her target, revealing the title at the end. The trailer also had bits and pieces of Corvo’s mask from the first game as a nice way to call back to the first game, perhaps suggesting his involvement in the story as a playable character. Dishonored 2 will release for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, and is expected in Spring of 2016. The cinematic trailer can be found below.
