Hot off the heels of May 4th, it seems that thanks to Game Informer, we finally have a confirmation that the next installment in the popular toys-to-life franchise will include Star Wars. Disney Infinity 3.0 will use characters and plots from all over the Star Wars timeline, including not only the Original and Prequel trilogy, but also the Clone Wars, as well as an added Force Awakens pack. Of course, the new entry will not just bring Star Wars characters, as other characters from Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron and even Tron: Legacy will be added.
Characters seemingly confirmed to be in this installment include Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano, Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, Yoda, Darth Vader, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Darth Maul, Chewbacca, Sam Flynn, Quorra, Ultron, Iron Man in his Hulkbuster armor, Minnie Mouse, Mulan, Olaf, and even the five moods from Pixar’s Inside Out. Seems like Disney is really starting to expand the brand and continues to flesh out the gameplay, bringing DmC: Devil May Cry developer Ninja Theory back to work on the combat, and bringing in Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing developer Sumo Digital to work on vehicle gameplay.
The Starter Pack will release for $64.99 MSRP, releasing for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Nintendo Wii U, PC, as well as mobile devices. Included in this set will be Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano, as well as a play set called “Twiilight of the Republic”. More play sets based on Disney/Pixar’s Inside Out, Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, an original trilogy Star Wars set called “Rise Against the Empire”, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens, all of which planned to be available this winter. More information will be released in the coming months, and the game will most likely be shown at this year’s E3, where we will hope to have a preview available.
