Silent Hills teaser game P.T. being pulled from PlayStation Store (UPDATED)
(UPDATE: It turns out that in the North American region, PS4 owners that have already downloaded the teaser and have deleted it from the system are reportedly unable to redownload it due to an error that comes up when attempting to do so.)
Last year, PlayStation 4 owners were treated with a teaser for Konami’s Silent Hills, a project worked on by Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro. Titled P.T., gamers everywhere went crazy trying to figure out all the secrets of the horror game, the biggest one being how to actually complete it. Giving a surprisingly deep, but frightening experience, the game was just meant to tease the next installment of the popular survival horror franchise, this time starring AMC’s The Walking Dead star, Norman Reedus.
Unfortunately, it seems now the game’s fate falls into question, with Hideo Kojima’s departure from Konami, and now, the teaser being pulled from the PlayStation store. Posted on the publishers website for the game, it was announced that effective Wednesday, April 29th, the game will no longer be distributed.
Anyone who has already downloaded the game can still download it from their download list, and the game will still be playable for all who have it. It’s unknown if this will be a temporary removal, but if you happen to have a PS4 and are up for a bone-chilling experience, it’s worth giving it a download even just for prosperity.
