Today Rising Star Games has continued its efforts to work with the best indie developers out there, announcing a new partnership with UK developer Delve Interactive. This partnership allows RSG to add PONCHO to the ever-growing stable of great indie games.
PONCHO, a pixel platformer, was recently playable by the public for the first time at EGX REZZED 2015, and the partnership with RSG will help Delve Interactive bring the title to several more platforms later this year. It tells the story of a robot who awakens to discover a post-apocalyptic world in which humanity has completely vanished. What happened within the ruins of the past is a mystery, however glimpses of the truth continue to peek through the unchallenged growth of nature. Now it’s up to you to help the poncho-wearing mechanical hero find his maker, discover what happened, and perhaps even attempt to restore humanity.
Managing director at Rising Star Games, Martin Defries, stated, “When we are looking for games to publish we are always on the hunt for something special. Poncho is special. It was love at first sight. It is a game that has thrilled us since we started playing early versions and has continued to do so throughout its development. The team at Delve have created a new hero and an amazing game. We feel special now being part of PONCHO’s world.”
“We always wanted to bring PONCHO to the widest possible gaming audience,” Danny Hayes, co-creator of PONCHO, stated. “Partnering with the team at Rising Star Games has meant that we can now do that. We have embraced their passion and know-how with our creativity. PONCHO is a new kind of pixel super hero that we hope you will all love.”
The game offers a unique twist with its 2D adventuring; the ability to shift between three layers of depth at will. This allows all kinds of challenges and puzzles to be implemented. In addition, the developers state that the game is packed with charming personality and interesting characters, and they believe that players will want to lead Poncho through his exciting tale.
