Vergil takes center stage as a new DMC 4 playable character.
Capcom has unveiled new details for the upcoming Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition, set to release on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in Summer 2015. This Special Edition will include the original 2008 release of the game, three new playable characters, various gameplay improvements, and a new Legendary Dark Knight Mode.
One of these new characters, Vergil, has decided to steal the spotlight from his twin brother Dante. Featuring upgraded moves and graphics since his previous appearance in Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Awakening Special Edition, Vergil is a force to be reckoned with.
Next up is the mysterious Trish, who has decided to take Dante’s part in the story, completing his missions for him. In addition, the powerful demon hunter Lady has decided to kick Nero out of center stage as she completes his missions. The ladies brings the total number of playable characters up to five, making it the largest roster in a Devil May Cry game to date.
The Legendary Dark Knight Mode, which was introduced in the PC version of Devil May Cry 4, pits players against hordes of enemies. You’ll need to put your stylish combat skills to the ultimate test as enemies will spawn in greater numbers and feature more strength and vitality. The upside of this is that you’ll have more time to execute longer and more exciting combos.
The game will also feature freshly powered-up visuals on both PC and next-gen consoles, supporting 1080p resolution and high-res textures while retaining the original title’s smooth 60fps. Capcom has gone on to state that further improvements to the game’s tempo and balance will be made while maintaining the game’s original quality.
Finally, there will be new costumes and skins in the game that will be designed to be completely compatible with the cutscenes. Said Capcom, “This will bring a fresh new look to scenes some fans may have seen before.”
