Today Sierra revealed a major title update for the critically acclaimed retro arcade shooter developed by Lucid Games, Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions.
This update, known as Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions Evolved will update the game with a set of new challenges and features. It will add in 40 new stages of action in Adventure mode, complete with “New boss battles, 3D grid shapes and gameplay types, as well as the mighty Sweeper drone and Detonator super ability,” they stated in the official press release. “It also revises the previous level gating system, making it much easier for players to progress and unlock their favorite modes.”
In addition to the Adventure mode additions, Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions Evolved will include several improvements that Sierra and Lucid are positive die-hard fans of the series will love. One example is a new Hardcore mode, which allows you to attempt to take on 20 dedicated levels without utilizing a drone or even a super. This mode will also feature individual leaderboards for “no-loadout purists” to compete in.
This upcoming update will be available for all owners of Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions to download free on March 31 for the PlayStation 3, 4, Xbox 360, One, and PC. Those who don’t yet have the game can purchase it on any of these platforms for $14.99, and it will be officially renamed to Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions Evolved when the update goes live.
