Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Konami’s highly anticipated stealth-action sequel, and the follow-up to last year’s Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, is officially releasing on September 1st, 2015 (September 2nd for Japan). Fans worldwide can enjoy the conclusion to the Metal Gear Solid V saga, expanding on the content and story from what we’ve seen in Ground Zeroes. This date applies to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 versions of the game. The Steam version will be released on September 15th, 2015. The game will launch in two different versions, the “Day 1 Edition”, as well as a Collector’s Edition, which will both include a map as well as extra DLC. The Collector’s Edition will include additional DLC, a collectible steelbook case, a behind the scenes documentary and trailer showcase on blu-ray, and a half-scale replica of Snake’s Bionic Arm.
It was also announced that Metal Gear Online, the multiplayer segment of the game, will launch day one with the game, launching the third iteration of the popular mode. It will have newly refined gameplay elements and also includes a class system that hopes to uniquely define player roles. Fans can also look forward to seeing some familiar faces in the mode suchas Ocelot and Venom Snake. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will be $59.99 MSRP for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam, and $49.99 MSRP for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The Collector’s Edition will run $99.99 MSRP and will release exclusively for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
I’ve been playing video games ever since I was 4 years old, just a little over two decades ago, and since then, I’ve pretty much devoted my life to them. I love video games. They inspire me. I eventually want to make my own games for people to play and give the same spark that I was given when I was a little kid.
