Game Connection 2015 Development Awards winners revealed
Yesterday Game Connection unveiled the winners of the 2015 Game Connection Development Awards, formerly known as “Selected Projects”. The award honors yet unsigned or highly original game projects and is open to console, social, mobile, casual, and online games at any stage of development without restriction to genre, platform, or even distribution method. 170 games entered, with the jury picking out 24 different projects from 15 countries, finally narrowing down the winners in each of the ten different categories. Vlad Micu from VGVisionary hosted the ceremony.
Active Gaming Media, based in japan, managed to take two of the ten awards home for Astebreed, making them the largest winners of the day. The awards they managed to claim were “Best Hardcore” and “Best Console/PC Hardcore Game”. Square Enix Montreal managed to claim “Best Mobile/Tablets” with their title Hitman GO, .
German developer Bigpoint managed to claim the honor of “Best Desktop/Downloadable” with their MOBA, Shards of War, as Brainseed Factory, another German developer, claimed “Best Casual” with Typoman.
Canadian developer Hololabs managed to claim the “Best Social” award with their title Papercade. Monzo, by MADFINGER Games, managed to take the award for “Excellence in Art”.
Next up was the “Excellence in Story & StoryTelling” award, which was won by A Crowd of Monsters and their title Blues & Bullets. Shadow Puppeteer managed to take the “Most Promising IP” award, bringing pleasure to Sarepta Studio AS in Norway.
Last, but not least, was the “Most Creative and Original Project” award, which was won by LyteShot Inc’s LyteShot.
