Sony has announced that the support for both Maps and Youtube applications will end on April 20, 2015 on PlayStation Vita. The apps have already been removed from the Store, and can only be used by those who already have them on their device. “near” app will also be removed in a future patch, leaving the console with only a few useful third-party programs.
The company hasn’t revealed the reason behind this decision, and from what we can see, it seems to be a permanent one. PlayStation Vita owners can now watch their favorite videos on Youtube only by using the provided browser.
