Theatrhythm branches out into Dragon Quest territory

Square-Enix has revealed that the Theatrhythm series will become an official standalone franchise, as Theatrhythm: Dragon Quest was announced for Nintendo 3DS.  There is currently no word on when or if the game will hit the states, but it is currently slated for release on March 26th, 2015 in Japan.  It will be one of the games showcased at the annual Jump Festa event in Tokyo, Japan, and will likely feature music from Dragon Warrior, all the way up to Dragon Quest X, and likely some of the spin-offs like Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker.  Jump Festa will take place from December 20th to the 21st, so it’s likely that more information on the game will come up then.  On another note, this announcement opens up possibilities for other franchises to be explored in the future.  Theatrhythm: Kingdom Hearts anyone?
