Nintendo reveals more Amiibo figures, Shulk is a GameStop exclusive
We’re just a little over a week away from the release of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, as well as the first wave of Nintendo’s new Amiibo figures. Despite that, we not only know about the second wave, but now we know about the third wave, confirmed by IGN to come to North America in February next year. Wave three will include eleven figures, including Bowser, Rosalina & Luma, Ike, Meta Knight, King Dedede, Sheik, Toon Link, Lucario, Sonic, Mega Man, and Shulk. The latter of which, Shulk, has been reported to be a GameStop exclusive, which apparently other figures are planned to be retailer exclusive as well. Shulk currently has a placeholder date of 2/1/2015, so don’t get your hopes up for that to be their official release date.
This shouldn’t come as a surprise, as the game Shulk originated from, Xenoblade Chronicles, was a GameStop and Nintendo store exclusive in North America when it finally released in North America back in 2012. I’m willing to guess that there will be a Best Buy Blue Bomber (Mega Man) as a retail exclusive? Maybe an Amazon Ike exclusive figure? Nintendo plans on releasing more information on the retailer information soon, and we’ll be sure to update as that information becomes available. Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Amiibo launch in North America on November 21st, 2014, and we’ll likely have a review for the game posted sometime around the release.
