Blizzard announces Overwatch at BlizzCon 2014 [Update: Now with gameplay and trailer!]

Blizzard just announced Overwatch, a first-person, team-based multiplayer shooter.

The beta for the game will be available in 2015 and you can sign up at the website.

You can watch the trailer below.

And here’s some gameplay!

The game is being directed by former World of Warcraft developer Jeff Kaplan.

In the trailer, we saw animated characters fight against each other with weapons and gadgets in both third-person and first-person action. It looks like there’s several different classes and races to play as and they each can work together in different ways.

The game could be a reworked version of the cancelled project Titan, which was rumored to have similar gameplay.

The trailer for the game was just shown to BlizzCon 2014 attendees during the opening ceremony, which you can watch on the website. It will be playable at the event.

…meh. names are awful and stereotypical. the whole game looks kind of generic …in every way. maybe the play will be more fun than it looks.
