Lizard seeks crowdfunding help to achieve development goals.
Canadian programmer Brad Smith has decided to release a new game on a rather unlikely platform: The NES. This game, titled Lizard, is the latest in a line of new releases that has been arriving on the system, with other noteworthy titles including Nomolos and the brutally difficult Battle Kid.
Lizard is a platform game that is more about exploration and experimentation than action. The game lacks guns and swords, instead featuring a human wearing a lizard. Scattered throughout the world of Lizard are other lizards for your character to put on, with each featuring its own special ability. One example is the Lizard of Bounce, which can make long leaps. The Lizard of Stone can even petrify itself to escape danger.
Those interested in the title can check out a playable demo in either an NES ROM format, or even a native PC or Mac application for those who aren’t comfortable with emulation software. The game is currently in the midst of a crowdfunding campaign to support its development cycle, and those who want to support the title can do so here.
