Microsoft has declared that its Xbox Entertainment Studios has been officially closed, after they announced the shut down plans back in July. The studio was founded back only 18 months ago, in February 2013, with the goal of creating unique video content for Xbox consoles and other Microsoft devices.
Rumours has stated that 18,000 employees will be laid off with this decision, and today Microsoft has made it official. “Yes, we can confirm that Xbox Entertainment Studios has closed as part of the companywide restructuring announced by Microsoft last July, […] Xbox Entertainment Studios has officially closed. Nancy and Jordan were key members and visionaries for the XES team, and we thank them for their leadership and many contributions.” Microsoft confirmed to GI.biz.
