Mega Steelix and Glalie detailed

Today The Pokémon Company International revealed details on the powerful Mega-Evolved forms of Steelix and Glalie. These two beasts, which can be caught in the upcoming Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, both gain special abilities upon achieving this form.

First up is Steelix, the Steel-and-Ground-type Pokémon. This beast, as most know, evolves from Onyx. Upon gaining the ability to Mega Evolve, it transforms into Mega Steelix, gaining a huge increase in its Defense stat. In addition, Mega Steelix gains the Steel-type move Iron Tail. This will be most destructive during a sandstorm, as Mega Steelix also gains a Sand Force Ability, which increases the strength of Rock-type, Ground-type, and Steel-type moves by 30% during the sandstorm weather condition.

Next up is the Ice-type Pokémon, Glalie. This beast can now evolve into Mega Glalie, which boosts its Speed, as well as significantly boosting its Attack and Special Attack stats. Mega Glalie also gains an Ability called Refrigerate, which turns all Normal-type moves into Ice-type moves. In addition, Mega Glalie will be able to use a new Ice-type move called Sheer Cold, which has a chance of taking down a target with a single strike.

If you happen to have the Special Demo Version of Pokémon Omega Ruby or Pokémon Alpha Sapphire, you will be able to catch Glalie and transfer it to the full version of the game when it launches on November 21, 2014.

What new Pokémon will be shown off as Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire approach the release date?
