Paddington Bear receives a movie and 3DS game tie-in
Paddington Bear receives a movie and 3DS game tie-in for said movie at the end of this year, it has been revealed.
For those unaware, Paddington Bear was created by British author Michael Bond back in 1958. Since his creation, he has won the hearts of many young readers across the globe in over 70 published titles that have been published in 40 languages. The series has sold more than 35 million, successfully captivating children for over 50 years.
The loveable bear is now hitting the big screen by the end of the year in Paddington. This will be a live action movie, starring a computer-animated Paddington. In addition to the movie, the 3DS will be receiving a game tie-in, and smart phones will also be receiving several more gaming applications aimed at children.
These games will be developed by the French publisher Anuman Interactive. Alain Milly, Anuman’s Publishing Director, stated, “Paddington is a license that spans generations, known by children and adults alike across the world. It perfectly fits our strategy to offer family video games and applications from the youngest children through to our Microids – Games for All and Kids’ Mania labels. We are looking forward to doing our best to develop the license across all our new multimedia platforms.”
Jérémie Auzat, VP Licensing and Partnerships at STUDIOCANAL added, “Paddington will be the Christmas 2014 family movie and we are delighted that Anuman Interactive, a world-renowned French publisher with a great understanding of game publishing and digital distribution are now our global partner for Paddington.”
