As the End of Summer Sale continues, Humble Bundle sets up another giveaway. For the next 21 hours, you can grab Tropico 3 for free from the Humble Store.

For those unaware of the game, Tropico 3 is both a construction and resource management game and a political simulation game. It features a heavy focus on city building and attempts to return to the roots of the series by putting you in the role of “El Presidente”.

You are “El Presidente” because you have recently managed to seize power of the Caribbean island country of Tropico. Now it is your job to manage development of Tropico by ordering construction of various resources, industry, and service buildings. You will also determine how these buildings operate.

In addition, you can issue several edicts to influence the island. These edicts include new laws, policies, and diplomatic actions.

The game features seven different political factions on the island. These are communists, capitalists, militarists, environmentalists, nationalists, a religious faction, and intellectuals. Each faction has various demands, such as constructing a specific building or issuing a specific edict.

If the factions weren’t enough, it should be noted that Tropico 3 is set during the Cold War. Because of this, you will need to also manage relations with the USA and USSR. Each of these will provide you with financial aid, though you should be careful. Higher relations with a superpower will mean more aid and he possibility of an alliance. Lower relations with one, however, means less aid, and even the danger of the superpower invading your small country.

If this sounds like something that would interest you, just head on over to the Humble Bundle Store page and put in your email. You’ll soon receive a free Steam key that you can utilize to add the game to your Steam account.
